The Dutch-Canadian triathlete, who competed in Beijing for the Netherlands but is based in Calgary Canada, plans on conquering the Ironman 70.3 series while continuing to race for the podium at ITU World Cups in 2009.

Bio

Lisa Mensink, a 2008 Olympian, currently races on the ITU World Cup circuit but is making the switch to Ironman 70.3 racing for 2009. The Dutch-Canadian triathlete, who competed in Beijing for the Netherlands but is based in Calgary Canada, plans on conquering the Ironman 70.3 series while continuing to race for the podium at ITU World Cups in 2009.

Lisa only started racing triathlon in 2003 completing her first sprint race on a borrowed mountain bike! From there, she progressed quickly from Age-Group to Elite racing; finishing in the top-20 at her first ITU World Cup in 2006.  In 2007, putting her career as a geologist on hold to train full-time, she was named to the Dutch National Team and in 2008, after one and half years racing at the Elite level, she had a brilliant season with 4 top 12 finishes in the competitive ITU World Cups, earning her ticket to the Beijing Olympics!!
