Can I check-in and pick-up my race packet on Sunday morning?

No.  You must do this at the registration tent located at the race expo on Friday (10am to 7pm) or Saturday (10am to 5pm). 

Can I check my bike Sunday morning?

No. This must be done Saturday at the transition area from 11am to 4pm.

Can someone else pick up my race packet?

No.  USAT rules clearly state that you must be present with a photo ID an no one else can do this for you.

Can someone else drop off my bike?

No.  For security reasons, only you can drop off your bike.  However, a ticket will be included in your race packet that will enable a designated friend or family member to pick up your bike from transition after the race only with this ticket and photo id. 

Can I bring anyone else inside the transition area to help me out?

No.  Only athletes with the required wristband are allowed inside transition.

Where will the expo and transition area be located?

If you drive into the park on the main causeway, the expo and transition will be in a parking lot on the far right side nearest the lake. 

How will the swim waves work?

The full rev starts first with the pros leaving at 6:50am and age-groupers starting together in one wave at 7:05am.  The half rev will be broken out into approx. 5 or 6 waves with the first wave leaving at 8:30am separated by 5 min.

What is the swim course like?

It is a beach start starting behind Breakers hotel.  You will swim one loop or two with a short run to the transition area.  An alternate swim course will be ready in the event that the primary swim course is not safe to swim. The alternate swim course is located on the other side of the peninsula in a more sheltered cove. 

What is the terrain of the bike course?

The course is generally flat with a few rolling hills, one short steeper hill in Milan, and some false flats. 

What is the run course like?

The run course is almost entirely flat and takes place throughout the streets and parks of downtown Sandusky.

Please tell us all about the Cedar Point park passes:

Each registered athlete and relay team received 2 passes that can be used Saturday from 12noon to 10pm and Sunday 12noon to 8pm.  People staying at a Cedar Point hotel can buy additional tickets directly from the hotel for $29.  For those not staying at a Cedar Point hotel, additional tickets can be purchased at the Rev3 merchandise tent located in the expo for $39.99.  There is no limit for the number of tickets that can be purchased.

How does parking work?

It typically costs $10 per car to park at Cedar Point but as part of your entry fee, parking will be included.  We are working on the best system to do this.  Spectators and non-athletes will be required to pay the $10 parking fee on Saturday and Sunday.  If you are staying at a Cedar Point hotel, there is no fee to park and the hotel will provide you with a parking pass. 

Where can we do practice rides and run?

No biking or running is allowed on the perimeter road at Cedar Point.  You will be stopped.  The only place to do this is on the Chaussee which is the back entrance to the park or anywhere away from the peninsula. 

Can we do practice swims from the shores of Cedar Point? 

Swimming will only be allowed Friday from 7am to 9am and Saturday from 7am to 10am behind the Breakers hotel

Is the park open on Friday?

A select number of rides will be open exclusively for Rev3 athletes, supporters, volunteers.  Tickets to the park will be required that night for a small fee (to be determined).  The following rides will be open:

Can I buy nutrition or supplies from the expo?

Yes, All3Sports will have a wide variety of choices for all of your race day needs.

Where is the best place to watch the race?

The beach is open to anyone and a great place to watch the swim.  After that, the expo and transition area will be a great place to cheer on your loved ones finishing the swim, starting the bike, ending  the bike, starting the run, and entering the park to finish.  There will be food and drinks available for purchase all day, along with a race announcer and rocking music. 

How do we watch our athletes finish?

If you are using your park tickets on Sunday, then you will have full access to the finish line.  If you do not have park passes, a section of the finish line will be dedicated to you.  You will enter the park at the gate nearest the Breakers hotel and park passes are not required.  You will have access to bleachers and a great spot to watch the finish!

After 8:00 p.m. on Sunday the entire finish line area will open up and you will have the same access as the people that had park passes for the day.

Where is the Host Hotel located?

Hotel Breakers is our Host Hotel and is located within the amusement park. The Hotel will be reserved only for athletes of REV3 Triathlon adding a unique twist.

Is the swim a mass start?

For the Full distance Event the swim is a mass start.
For the Half it is a wave start. Waves will be determined by the number of athletes in each age division.

Where does the Event begin?

The event will begin on the beach outside Hotel Breakers (Host Hotel) within Cedar Point Amusement Park.

Where does the Event end?

The event will culminate with a dynamic finish within Cedar Point Amusement Park.

Where is the main transition area located?

Our transition area will be located in one of the main parking areas adjacent to the beach/ swim exit.

Does my registration include passes to the Amusement Park?

Yes, your registration fee will include (2) passes to the Amusement Park.

What does my registration fee include?

Your registration fee includes admission to the race, two passes to the amusement park, race shirt, finisher shirt, finisher medal, embroidered visor, water bottle, towel and Sponsor Product.

Where can I find a map of the race course?

Swim/Bike/Run courses are available in the course section of the web site.

Where will the aid stations be and what will be available?

Aid stations are approximately a mile apart on the run and every 10 miles on the bike. Nutrition available will be determined by Sponsor and updated accordingly.

How do I sign up?

Go to the Registration tab located on the REV3 Home Page. This will direct you to our active.com site where you can register.

When can I sign up for next year's race?

Registration will be announced shortly after the current year's race along with a REV3 “series” announcement for 2011.

Are there ways to enter besides general entry?

Yes. There are a limited number of Charity designation spots available. If you agree to raise money for the V Foundation (our designated charity) we will waive your entry fee. Details regarding this program are available under the Charity link.

What is the latest date that I can withdraw and still get a partial refund?

All withdrawal/policy information is available under the general race information tab.

Will there be relays?

Yes, refer to the active.com registration site for details

Which Age group will I race in on race day?

We follow USAT policies regarding age-group distinction. Refer to www.usatriathlon.org for details

Do we have to check in our bikes before race day?

Yes. Bikes will be checked in Saturday September 11th  between 10:00am – 7:00pm.

Are disk wheels allowed?

Are wetsuits allowed?

Yes, in accordance with USAT wetsuit / water temperature rules. In fact, wetsuits are strongly advised.

What are the distances for the REV3 Triathlon at Cedar Point?

Our feature Race is a Full Distance Event consisting of a 2.4 mile swim, a 112 mile bike and a 26.2 mile run.  Our secondary event will be a Half-Rev which consists of a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, and a 13.1 mile run.

Can I take my car on the race course to watch my athlete?

No, for safety reasons we ask that you do not attempt to follow your athlete by car. The best place to watch your athlete is in the transition area and the finish line via the Trakkers display sights. Any vehicular traffic on the race course should expect long delays. Please do not attempt to gain access to the race course with your vehicle. We want to keep the course as safe as possible for the athletes.

Is there anywhere to eat onsite Race Day?

Yes, Cedar Point Amusement Park will have a variety of options available for you.

Will I be allowed into the medical tent to look for my athlete if they have not arrived at our meeting destination?

The Medical Tent is highly congested and spectators will not be allowed in. There will be a Medical Information Tent next to the Medical Tent where medical updates will be available on athletes who enter the Medical Tent. Please, be patient with the Medical Information Volunteers, updates will be posted as soon as they are received.

Will I be allowed into the finish line area to greet my athlete?

Please do not try to gain access to this area, as it must remain clear for the safety of the athletes. Before the event, you and your athlete should decide on a meeting place for after they have finished.

What roads will be closed to traffic on race day?

Refer to the website frequently for updated road closures.
